1. All Collin County Residents are wealthy.

     Fact: Mean Income for Collin County seniors 65+ is only $24,825. (1)

2.  Poverty is not a major problem among seniors.

     Fact: Compared to all families, Collin County seniors 65+ are twice

     as likely to be living in poverty (8% vs. 4%). (1)

3.  Medicare meets all of a senior’s medical needs.

     Fact: Seniors spend 12.7% of total income on medical expenses,

     compared to 5.7% for the general population. (2)
